My aunties and I have decided to go around the UK to visit lots of different bookshops. We have been to 66 books, The Old Pier Bookshop, and today we went to OakTree Bookshop in Doncaster.
However, you can find my video here on TikTok, and I have included some screenshots from it. Sorry if they are blurry 😦

There were lots of books to choose from, and what I will say is that the crime/mystery section was huge, but the fantasy section was not really. If you love authors such as James Patterson, Lee Child, and Patricia Cornwell, you will have a ball at this bookshop as they have so many books in this genre. They also had a large children’s section.
The books are all second-hand and vary in quality, but none of them are in bad shape; some have cracked spines and bent pages, and some you can tell are rather old. They also have toys and other knick-knacks you can buy. They have fantastic prices too, each book is £1 or 13 books for £10.
It is situated in Doncaster, I am from Greater Manchester, and it took me roughly two hours to drive there. So what did I buy? I, of course, got 13 books, but 3 of them were for my auntie, who didn’t come on the road trip. I also only picked up 11 books, including them 3, so my Aunty Becky, who was with me, grabbed 2 books for herself, so I had 13.
For myself, I picked up:
- Rachel Caine – Midnight Alley
- Rachel Caine – The Dead Girls Dance
- Cassandra Clare – City of Bones
- Cassandra Clare – City of Ashes
- Cassandra Clare – City of Glass
- Cassandra Clare – City of Fallen Angels
- Cassandra Clare – City of Lost Souls
- Cassandra Clare – City of Heavenly Fire
My auntie gave me 10 books from the Morganville Vampire series a while ago. I used to read them when I was younger, and I decided I would search for the ones I was missing in charity shops and book trips like this one. I’m super happy I found 2 of them. I keep a list on my phone of books I’m looking out for in the charity shops, and now I only need 5 to complete this series: Glass House, Bitter Blood, Fall of Night, Daylighters and Midnight Bites. I’m looking forward to rereading this as an adult. I picked up The Cassandra Clare books because they were 1 a full set, and 2 I have heard good things about Cassandra Clare’s books. Have you read any of these books, and if so, what are your thoughts?
For my auntie who wasn’t with us, I picked up:
- Patricia Cornwell – At Risk
- Patricia Cornwell – Livid
- James Patterson – 19th Christmas
I had to call her whilst I was there because she has a lot of the authors there, and I didn’t want to get duplicates. I must download the BookBuddy app on her phone and scan her books in so she knows fully what she does and doesn’t have.
If you haven’t used the BookBuddy app and you have a lot of books, you should try it. This isn’t an ad! I found the app on the App Store and I love it. You just scan the barcode of your book, and it adds it to your library. You can mark books as loaned out if you lend them to people, you can add books to series and number them appropriately. You can add tags, favourites, etc. The app is free for I think the first 50 books you scan, but if you have more books than that, you have to purchase the full app, but I believe it’s a one of payment of £5.99.

I left the other 2 books I got with my Aunty Becky and I can’t remember what she picked up lol.
If you fancy a trip to OakTree Bookshop you can find them at:
Bently Moore Lane, Doncaster DN6 7BD
You can also find them on Facebook here.
Where do we need to visit next?
