The Locked Door by Freida McFadden

Nora is a respected surgeon who has a big secret; nobody knows that she is the daughter of a serial killer, that while Nora lay upstairs, her father was butchering women in the basement. Nora has given herself a new name and holds her secret close to her chest, but when her young female patients start turning up dead in the same manner as her father’s victims, she starts to think someone knows who she really is and wants her to take the fall for these crimes.

As I contemplate my next move, a thought flits through my head. One that I have not infrequently when I’m in difficult situations: what would my father do?

Thrilling Short Story Review: A Must-Read from Amazon First Reads

I downloaded this book because it was the bonus read for May’s Amazon First Reads, I didn’t know if I would ever read it but it was free so I downloaded it.

I have previously read the Housemaid Series by Freida McFadden and I enjoyed book 1 and 2, book 3 not as much but I wasn’t blown away by them enough to think about picking another one of her books up, I have some on my shelf but these were purchased before I read the Housemaid Series. Don’t get me wrong she isn’t a bad writer at all, just quite predictable I feel, but like I said I haven’t read any other books by her.

I had just finished a thriller that I didn’t enjoy and thought why not give this a try it’s only 79 pages.
