Club 22 by Tate James
I have just finished this book and headed straight upstairs to my computer to write this review. 1, so I remember everything, and 2, because I feel like there is a lot to unpack in this one.
This book picks up where book 2 ended, Hades has just shot Cass because he has been working with Chase and dealing with PCP. We see Cass’ funeral and the reapers transitioning to the control of Roach.

Cass is not, in fact, dead; he was wearing a vest, and the only people who know are Hades and Cass. Even Zed and Lucas believe she killed Cass. Seph is in Italy, and she thinks Cass is dead. Lucas and Zed figure it out after about a week when they hear Cass and Hades having sex. Killing Cass was his way out of the reapers and his way of working against Chase; he was never working for him.

This book features a lot of Chase setting them up and Hades cleaning up the mess he’s making, while also trying to stay one step ahead of Chase.
Seph gets abducted in Italy, and Chase says he will return her if Hades has dinner with him, which quickly turns into Chase wanting Hades to willingly sleep with him. Thankfully, they locate Seph, and Hades gets to slam Chase’s head into the table.
Chase is like a cockroach that fucker turns up everywhere. He moves into the house next to Zed’s. Manages to sneak into Zed’s house, which is meant to be locked up tighter than Fort Knox! The dude is a one-eyed magician.
Not if I get you first, darling. An eye for an eye and all that biblical shit.
We finally see Hades completing the bet she made with Zed and completing Maxine’s routine in the strip club, which the boys have cleared out. Hence, it is just them. This is also the first time we get a spicy scene of the 4 of them together, which is pretty hot and came around faster in this series than it did in the Madison Kate series (yes, I’m still salty about that).
Seph really got on my nerves in this one. She is an entitled, spoiled brat. I understand Hades didn’t want Seph to carry the weight of what Hades did to save her and didn’t want to sully her memory of her dad but fuck me, she needed to know I was glad when they finally told her. I can’t believe she was hitting on Lucas and telling him her sister was no good for him and she was a cold hearted bitch like wow. Who needs enemies when you have sisters, right? She needs to start respecting her sister a bit more.

Okay, the main thing I need to talk to someone about, and you will have to be who I talk to about this lol. Zed is FBI!
So I know by now that things aren’t what they seem in Tate James books, and there will be some sort of explanation for this, but Agent De Rosa! Excuse me what the actual fuck?
Chase is also FBI! Apparently.
I need to jump into Timber, which is a bigger book at 660 pages. I would love to spend all day reading, but since I woke at 2am in pain, I need a nap since I am also out this evening watching a Pink tribute with friends, so it is more than likely I will read most of Timber on Sunday.
What do you think is Zed, actually the FBI, or is this all part of the plan to beat Chase?
