Mummy Issues and Psycho Vibes: Meet Dr Stan in Harleigh Beck’s Lonely

Lonely by Harleigh Beck

Lonely is a standalone, erotic horror set in Wellard Asylum, which is a shared world. 13 authors have come together to release 13 books set at Wellard Asylum. It’s an awesome lineup, too! The books are being released at least one a week. The books in this world are as follows:

  • Writhe by K.T. Madden (Out now)
  • Exposed by Audrey Rush (Out now)
  • Lethal by A.L. Maruga (Sept 12th)
  • Lonely by Harleigh Beck (Sept 16th)
  • Atrocity by Nova Kane (Sept 21st)
  • Ravage by Loralai Blake (Sept 26th)
  • Damaged by Orion Azure (Oct 1st)
  • Asylum by J.S. Cannon (Oct 6th)
  • Sour by AB. Cynthe (Oct 11th)
  • Yonderly by SJ Ransom (Oct 16th)
  • Lunatic by Chelle Rose (Oct 21st)
  • Unwell by Effie Campbell (Oct 26th)
  • Mara by SK Pryntz (Oct 31st)

They do not need to be read in order.

I signed up and received ARCs from Nova and Harleigh, and then last night I signed up for A.L. Maruga’s on BookSirens. These are Erotic Horror, NOT Dark Romance, there are NO happy endings! They are all dark and twisted, so keep that in mind, please.

Lonely follows Doctor James Stan, who is a Doctor at Wellard Asylum. The thing is, Dr Stan is as unhinged as the patients he treats in the asylum. One patient, Weston Carter, gets Dr Stan’s attention from the minute he sees him; he knows he is special, and he needs to have him. Carter becomes his favourite patient; he thinks he can escape Dr Stan, but no one escapes him.

⚫️ Serial Killer Dr ⚫️ MM & FM Scenes ⚫️ Doctor x Patient ⚫️ Doctor x Nurse ⚫️ Femdom ⚫️ Power Imbalance ⚫️ Obsession ⚫️ Mind Games

This is the second book I have read in this shared world, and I enjoyed it. It’s a Harleigh Beck book, though, so of course I enjoyed it!

Dr Stan isn’t like most MMCs in Erotic horror books that I have read; he was unhinged, like the other, yes, but he wasn’t sexy and mysterious. There was no he’s a 10 but he’s a serial killer with Dr Stan. He was older, receding hairline, greying hair and a bit of a belly. It was a whole different take that I haven’t seen before, and I liked that.

You always see a lot of books where the FMC has daddy issues; this one was totally flipped. He had real bad mummy issues. To be fair, his mother was a horrid woman!

Carter, on the other hand, seemed sexy and like a 10 out of 10, but he’s a psycho vibe.

Dr Stan has never fucked a woman, until nurse Anna decides she is going to fuck him, and his internal monologue was amusing. Poor guy was bulldozed by her.

If you like unhinged, spicy as fuck and gory as fuck books then you will love this!

Thank you, Harleigh, for sending me an ARC of this book.
