September Reading Wrap Up

I had a pretty good reading month in September. I had quite a few ARCs, and I know I have a few for next month too, which is always exciting.

I read 9 books in September, once again reading them all on my Kindle, as they were ARCs; my physical TBR is giving me side-eye. I think I reviewed them all on here, so you should be able to go and see the individual reviews if you want, I will link them anyway. Without anymore chit chat here is what I read in September.

Goldrage by Aveline Knight

This was my first ARC of the month. I had read the other 2 books in the trilogy and had been keeping an eye out for the sign-ups for this one. It was amazing and I gave it 5 stars. Full review here.

Atrocity by Nova Kane

My next book was my first in the Wellard Asylum series, a shared world created by 13 authors. Atrocity is not the first book in the series, but they don’t need to be read in order. Atrocity was also an ARC. I always sign up for Nova’s ARCs because I love her books. I gave this 4 stars. Full review here.

Lonely by Harleigh Beck

I then read my next ARC, another Wellard Asylum book. Again, I always keep an eye out for ARC sign-ups from Harleigh. I really enjoyed this and gave it 4 stars. Full review here.

The Mannequins by C. Toms-Arbel

Another ARC, this was a mystery thriller, which I hadn’t read in a while. Sure, I read a lot of Erotic horror and thrillers, but it has been a while since I’d read a detective-based book, and that was what this was, and I loved it. This is going to be an author to watch! His book made me think of some of my favourite authors from my early twenties, Karin Slaughter, Stuart MacBride, etc. 4.5 stars. Full review here.

Lethal by A.L. Maruga

I had started The Mannequins when I got my weekly email from BookSirens that showed available ARC signups, and the first one in the email was Lethal. Automatically, I recognised the cover as being a part of the Wellard Asylum series and jumped straight on BookSirens to apply. Thankfully, I was accepted, and I read it straight after I finished The Mannequins. I think this may be my favourite book this month. 4.5 Stars. Full review here.

Itch by Ash Ericmore

My aunty facetimed me to tell me that she had read a weird arse book, this book. So, in between ARCs, I downloaded it on KU to see how weird it was. It’s a book about sex zombies, so yeah, fairly weird. The writing missed the mark for me, and I gave it 2.5 stars.

Stream and Scream by Dana LeeAnn and Melissa McSherry

This was another ARC. I didn’t remember signing up for this one, so it was like a present from past me. I enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars. Full review here.

The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon

I couldn’t get into this, I DNF’d it quite early on, just not for me.

Bonepetal by Nova Kane

Two Nova Kane ARCs in one month, I must have been a good girl or summat! I loved this, such a good concept, even made me choke up a little! 4 stars. Full review here.

Unwell by Effie Campbell

Lastly, I ended the month with another ARC. This is the first book I have ever read by Effie. I signed up because it is another book in the Wellard Asylum series. This book left me blinking at the ceiling, muttering What the fuck. 4 stars. Full Review here.

In my book journal on my monthly wrap-up page, I always list my top five, and name the longest, shortest, prettiest and my favourite of the month.

Top Five
-Lethal
-Goldrage
-The Mannequins
-Atrocity
-Bonepetal

The longest book I read was – Goldrage at 361 pages
The shortest book I read was Itch at 92 pages
My favourite book of the month was Lethal and
The book I thought had the prettiest cover was Bonepetal.

I hope you all had a good reading month!

Remember it doesn’t matter how many books you read, just that you enjoyed reading!
