Beautiful Nightmare is a paranormal thriller which follows Royce, the FMC and Prince, the MMC. Both are brought to live at Agatha Manor after the death of their parents. They have no access to their powers and not many memories of them either. Prince likes to dominate Royce whenever he can, viewing her as a possession. She knows that fighting back only turns him on even more and decides she may as well get her pleasure too. She deals with him because she has to. Then one night, Prince’s powers return, and all hell breaks loose.

I am on Kinsley Kincaid’s street team because I love her work, so it should come as no surprise that I enjoyed this. I enjoyed the little paranormal town, which had all manner of magical creatures, even a little fairy plumber! The FMC is a witch, although she doesn’t have access to her powers until the end of the book. The MMC is a telepath; he gains his powers back before Royce. Royce is also mated to a vampire.

Usually, I fall hard for the villain, especially Kinsley’s villains, but I wanted to smack Prince upside his probably very sexy-looking head. He is a dick. He really is an evil man; there is a reason he didn’t have access to his powers, because he abuses them, using them to control, manipulate and kill. He thinks that Royce is his to do with what he wants, be that taunt, have sex, hit, or control. In his mind, she is his.
My misery will not be her victory; it will only be mine
Royce is a sweet girl who has dealt with so much trauma at the hands of Prince. She comes from a loving home with 2 mothers, until they pass away due to an experiment gone wrong when Royce interrupts them. She is mentally scarred and takes this out on herself. I related to her in many ways. Seeing her get her powers back and gain strength and confidence was a beautiful moment! The ending, too, had me smiling!! This is a paranormal thriller, but it has a happy ending.
I’d love to know more about Hollows Grove and its residents because it seems like a cool town that I want to live in. I’d be a witch if I could.
