Nightmare Acres follows Lydia, who is going on a “fun” girls’ trip away to what she believes is a fright camp with scare actors. However, they soon realise that the monsters at Nightmare Acres are not actors; they are real. Not everyone leaves Nightmare Acres. Will Lydia and her friends?

This book is written in multiple POVs and is a character-driven book. Lydia is not someone who likes to be scared, but she doesn’t want to let her friends down, so she agrees to come on the trip. Unknowingly to her, the moment she steps onto the grounds, she has 3 monsters waiting to claim her at theirs.

Jack was cursed by a witch 150 years ago; he looks human, but his monster form is that of a jack-o’-lantern. When Jack shifts, he gains a pumpkin head, and the rest of his body is made of vines. The land Nightmare Acres sits on belongs to Jack, who agreed to let the monsters use it as their home. Jack lost his wife and children when the witch cursed him. So when he sees Lydia, who looks like his late wife Jane, he knows he has to have her.

Maverick and Hendricks are both vampires who have been searching for their bride, so when Lydia steps off the bus and they see her, they know she is the one. They offer Jack the option to share with them. Jack is unsure at first, but if it means getting Lydia, then so be it. He’ll share with the ‘ricks.

This was a quick, fun, very smutty read. It’s not a big plot, it’s just good vibes, really. Perfect for a little Halloween read.

Thank you Dakota for the ARC
