Pretty Broken Wings follows Raven, who has moved to live in Hollows Grove after leaving her ex in the middle of the night. She is trying to lay low and not be found by her ex, but she carries around this immense anger at the world. She bumps into Axel, who also carries around a tremendous amount of anger. Axel is used to girls throwing themself at him, but not Raven and that infuriates him. So he does what any sane man would do and starts to stalk her. She retaliates by breaking his glasses, except they are not his; they belong to his twin brother, Gage. Axel and Gage are identical twins and are both classed as legally blind, especially without their glasses. Gage is a lawyer who now needs someone to be his eyes while he preps for a case. Raven broke the glasses, so it’s only fair that she does it. If Gage so happens to fall for her during this time, then well, he and Axel will have to fight it out…or will they? They could share her. I mean, why should she choose?
Raven wants to play hard to get with the fucking slut. Okay, little bird. Let’s play.

What a good boy, doing what you’re told.
Alina May has fast become an auto-buy author for me. I have enjoyed every book I have read by her. This was no exception. I enjoyed every minute of reading this. I enjoy the way Alina writes; it always flows well and immerses you. Time just flies by while you’re consumed by the book, and I just love that.
This book is character-driven, with lovable characters, and there is strong character development.
Raven is angry at the world; she didn’t have the best childhood, growing up with an abusive dad. Then she deals with trauma with her ex-boyfriend, which led to her fleeing in the middle of the night. She’s scared to let down her guard, and is kind of living in fear. Well she’s not living, not really. She’s more surviving.
Axel is also angry at the world; he deals with this by sleeping around and not getting attached to anyone. He hides his trauma behind cocky smiles, charm and taking control.
I learned that even though I may see the best in someone, it doesn’t mean they see the best in me.
Gage is used to caring for everyone, especially Axel. He is the go-to guy when it comes to fixing things and keeping the family together and safe. Gage is more shy, while Axel is outgoing and sleeps around like it means nothing. Gage is more introverted, needing someone else to take control. Axel likens Gage to Snow White in how he was always rescuing injured animals when they were younger. Which was why, when Axel kidnaps Raven and she injures her hand, he takes her to Gage. Raven is a lot like a bird named Poe that Gage healed when he was younger.
We’re all a little broken, Ax. Doesn’t make us any less worthy of love
I liked all of the characters in this book, and they work so well together. Axel likes to control Raven, which she enjoys, but Raven also craves the control, and she gets to control Gage, which is loves. Axel and Raven were toxic to each other at the beginning, and Gage is the neutraliser that makes it work.
Eyes forward, cupcake. I don’t want to be gazing into your eyes while her wet cunt wraps around my dick
It was spicy, funny, tense, sad, dark and left me with a lump in my throat at times. I 100% recommend this.
Thank you Alina May for the ARC
