Mara is the last book in the Wellard Asylum series, although they can be read in any order. It will be released on the 31st of October.
Mara follows Mara, who is a nurse at Wellard Asylum. Mara has always been very career-driven and has never given her love life much thought. When she bumps into a tattooed biker in a frozen yoghurt shop, she can’t help but feel pulled to him. So she does what anyone would do, she drags him to the bathroom, where he shows her that his mouth has a much better use than talking. She doesn’t want his name, just a quick fumble. Except it turns out that the stranger whose face she just rode, is her sister’s boyfriend, Jinx. Jinx, who is obsessed with Mara, uses her sister to get close to Mara. Gianna Mara’s sister turns up dead, with all the evidence pointing to Jinx.
I kept Gianna sheltered as much as I could…I thrived in chaos. It freaked me out when things were too calm.

I have really enjoyed the Wellard Asylum series. I still have a few to read, but it’s been a good ride. This book was a good one. There are a million trigger warnings; make sure you read them.
Mara is so oblivious in a way that it makes you want to grab her by the shoulders and shake some sense into her. Mara is deaf; she wears cochlear implants, but even with them, she needs to be able to see the person talking to fully put together what is being said. A fact that Jinx uses to psychologically torture her. She is sassy and strong, but also rather stupid lol.
I was going to hell. The devil would be dragging me under right along with Jinx
Jinx is evil, there’s no other word for it, so why did I like him? Like what the hell, Letty!!
Fuck you, Little Reaper.
Poor Gianna, she didn’t deserve what happened to her. [spoiler] She didn’t deserve to be murdered and have her baby ripped from her. That made me want to cry for her. It was at this point that I really questioned how bad Jinx was. I mean, he was bad before, but this was like a lot, ya know.
The game is only beginning, Little Reaper. Can you find me?
My favourite character has to probably be Cheese, Mara’s ferret. I’ve always wanted a ferret.
The way this book ended, though! I think we may be seeing Jinx and Mara again.
It was definitely a solid book in the series, and I would recommend reading it, but like I said, check your triggers. There are dark themes, I mean, obviously, it’s erotic horror.
