This month was another month full of ARC reads, which I am super lucky to have been given. It still amazes me how many ARCs I get the opportunity to read. I typically only request ARCs from authors I know and like.

I started the month with Xantera by Mariah Montoya and Grace Pearce. This was a phenomenal read, I enjoyed every second of it and cannot wait for book 2 next month. I highly recommend this. It is werewolves and vampires, it is dystopian with mind-to-mind communication. 5/5 stars ⭐️ and 1/5 spice 🌶️

I then read Tragically Yours by Jamie Applegate Hunter. This was a cute, easy, fast-paced read. I really liked the main characters in this book. Especially the MMCs, familiar, she was super sassy. This book is fated mates with an over-the-top protective main male character. 4/5 stars ⭐️ and 2/5 spice 🌶️

I then read Beautiful Nightmare by Kinsley Kincaid. This is a paranormal horror, with foster siblings, extreme bullying, witches and vampires. I really enjoyed this. I love the idea of Hollows Grove, a paranormal town; heck, I want to live there! I love Kinsley’s work, so it didn’t surprise me that I enjoyed this. 4/5 stars ⭐️ and 3/5 spice 🌶️

I then read The Taskmaster by Nikki J Summers, which is a dark romance book with a possessive, unhinged, tattooed biker MMC who loves to play games similar to Saw. It also has a heroine who has her own dark secrets. I loved every minute of this book. I didn’t want to put it down, and I actually loved the MMC Isaiah. 5/5 stars ⭐️ 2.5/5 spice 🌶️

Next was Pretty Broken Wings by Alina May. I love Alina May’s books; she writes incredible stories, so obviously, when I see ARC openings, I dive on them. This one was a dark romance with identical twins; it is a why-choose, enemies-to-lovers with hurt/comfort trope, along with kidnapping and stalking. I loved it! I loved all the characters, and the plot had me hooked. I just, yeah, I was obsessed with this book. 5/5 stars ⭐️ and 2/5 spice 🌶️

Next, I read Nightmare Acres by Dakota Wilde, which is a short paranormal Halloween novella with vampires that like to share, a pumpkin monster and a happily ever after. This is also a why-choose book, MMFM. I enjoyed this; it was a quick, fun, easy read. 3.5/5 stars ⭐️ and 5/5 spice 🌶️

I then read Can’t Stop by Lauren Biel, which is a sequel to Don’t Stop, which I read last year. This is a horror traumance which follows 2 weird serial killers, one who is obsessed with dead things and the other is obsessed with blood. It was a good, spicy, quick read. I gave it 4.5/5 stars ⭐️ and 4/5 spice 🌶️

I then read Mara by SK Pryntz, which is the last book in the Wellard Asylum series. I have really enjoyed the books I’ve read in this series. This one followed Mara, a nurse at the asylum, and Jinx, who is obsessed with her, to the point he dates her sister to be close to her and then kills her sister when he no longer needs her. This was another good read; it is horror, so bear that in mind. There was one scene which made me want to cry. I gave this 4.5/5 stars ⭐️ and 3/5 spice 🌶️

Lastly, I did DNF this one, it was Distorted by Nyla K. I don’t know if it is just me, but this is the second time I have tried to read this book, and I just can’t get into it. I just get bored. I DNF’d at 20%. This was on my 12 months, 12 friends, 12 books challenge, so it is a shame that I DNF’d it. That’s 2 that I have DNF’d from this challenge. This was the only book this month that wasn’t an ARC.
All in all, it’s been a really good reading month.
