For all my author interviews so far, I have slid into authors’ DMs, and each time, I have been terrified of rejection. This time, I had the beautiful Luna Peters contact me through the contact form on my blog to ask if I was willing to interview a baby author, and too bloody right I am! I got so giddy that she wanted to be on my blog, not even gonna lie, I did a little happy dance and smiled like an absolute tool.
I had a little stalk of Luna’s social media profiles, which is normal, right?

I haven’t yet read Luna’s books, so this interview was super exciting for me. I had a gander at her socials and then compiled my questions. I then went to AATA, and Luna was there, which was absolutely awesome that I got to meet her.

Okay, with no more ado, let’s meet Miss Luna Peters!
Let’s start off with the most basic question: can you tell everyone a little bit about you? Who is Luna Peters?
Hey so I’m an English author, hailing from a little town in Berkshire, UK. I have an unhealthy obsession with Sailor Moon, the colour green, and pickles.
I’ve never seen Sailor Moon, but then again, I haven’t really watched anime. It is an anime, isn’t it? Green is also my favourite colour 😍
I know you are a baby author, how long have you been writing?
I began writing in March ‘25. I’d never written anything before this *hides behind hands and runs away*
That is incredible, you have 3 books out and you only started this year! Wow.
What led you to become an author?
I was helping someone with their book, and thought, actually, I think I can do this after spending years saying I couldn’t.
Who inspires you the most with your writing?
The realness of my characters. They still have that fictional aspect that we all love to read about but they’re like normal everyday people.
Random throw-in question alert…would you rather only be able to read new books or only be able to reread your favourite books forever?
Oooooh, now that’s a question and a half lol erm… has to be reread my favourite books. Some of those have gotten me through really tough times and hold a lot of memories for me, I don’t think I could let them go.
Yeah, honestly, I asked the question, but I couldn’t answer it, haha. It’s a hard one and I am mean for making you answer that lol.
Growing up, did you always want to be a writer?
I didn’t. I’ve always loved reading and would have loved to have started a career in publishing but I went down the route of the NHS and was a nurse for 15 years.
Oh wow, well first off, thank you for being a nurse and taking care of people for 15 years! When I was in the hospital and honestly at my wits’ end, some days the nurses are what kept me sane, being caring and making me laugh and feel like a human. So lots of respect for that, I bet it wasn’t easy.
Also, what’s one thing you said you wanted to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a ballerina at one time, also obviously a princess at one point too lol
I love this lol I wanted to be a history teacher, actress and at one point a hair dresser… if you saw my hair on any given day… you’ll be pleased to know I didn’t go down that route lol
OMG yes, I wanted to be a History teacher when I was in high school. I wish I had followed through with that.
What drew (is drew the right word?) you to writing romance?
I’m a soft squishy marshmallow under my hard exterior so it was always going to be romance. I can’t write dark books to save my life and I can’t read horror books because I get too scared lol
What’s crazy to me is that I never read romance books until a few years ago. I would always pull my face at romance because I’m not a soft, squishy marshmallow, haha. I only ever read thrillers and crime. Now I love romance, it’s my main genre.
This is a hard question …sorry but not sorry 😆 your hosting a dinner party and you have 8 seats to fill with authors dead or alive. Who’s sitting at your table and why?
Hard question? Please… hold my wine… Danielle Steel – she wrote one of my all time favourite books, Wings. It’s the original dad’s best friend romance. EK Hunter – she’s the only person I know who loves a glass of wine as much as I do lol. Bea Paige – I have a tendency to stalk this lady because I’m obsessed with her books. I’d love to meet her one day. Lucia Franco – so I can finally tell her to her face how much the airport scene in The Off Balance Series destroyed me (in a good way). Dianna Wynne Jones – to find out where the idea for Howl’s Moving Castle came from, as well as other questions, lol. Kim Harrison – I need her to look me in the eyes when she tells me why she killed spoiler alert Kisten off and broke my heart in the process. Jane Austen – to tell her thank you for writing Pride and Prejudice… My ex-MIL said I was too dumb to read it… I proved her wrong *insert smug smile*. William Shakespeare – I have a lot of questions about Much Ado About Nothing.
Haha, this made me laugh so much. The please…hold my wine, had me chuckling. I also like the big FU to your ex-MIL, haha.
What would you say is your long-term goal?
Connect with readers and other like-minded people, whether it’s about my books or other indie authors… I always have a recommendation for whatever mood you’re in. I’m here for a good time and a long time.
I love this, I’m thinking of doing a 12-month, 12 authors, 12 books challenge next year. Where I’ll ask 12 authors for a book recommendation, and I read one a month. If I do this challenge, I know I can ask you 😆
Do you plot or sit and let the words flow?
Oh, I’m 100% a pantser. I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to write until it’s there on the page. The amount of times I’ve had a ‘what the fuck’ moment because of something the characters has done is too many to count lol.
What’s one trope you won’t ever write and why?
Without yuking anyone’s yum… I think it might have to be the pregnancy/breeding trope. I have four kids, and it’s honestly not something sexy to me lol
Haha, it’s a trope I don’t read much to be honest. I think thats because I can’t have children so I don’t want to read about people having what I want and can’t have lol.
One trope you love above all others?
AGE GAP!!! An author puts that in their trope list and it’s an automatic ‘adds to TBR.’ I go feral for it.
Mine for sure is enemies to lovers, especially where he falls first or stalker.
Favourite book and movie growing up? Mine was Grease and Harry Potter, before that, it was Enid Blyton books.
My favourite book is Wings by Danielle Steel. There’s just something so heart-warming about it… Plus its age gap lol… film? There are so many to choose from, but it’ll have to be Armageddon. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen that movie, and there is a slight possibility I might know all the words lol *sings in a terrible voice* leeeeeeeaving on a jet plane… I don’t know when I’ll be back again.
I’ve never watched Armageddon *hides* I also haven’t read any Danielle Steel books. Don’t hate me, haha.
Who is your favourite musician or band? Mine’s N-Dubz, MGK and Demi Lovato.
I love all types of music… You should see my Spotify playlist lol, but I’m a metal head at heart. I absolutely adore Mod Sun and Bullet For My Valentine. As well as a few lesser-known artists… We Came As Romans, Defects, Bury Tomorrow.
I do also love a varity of music, I grew up listening to Meatloaf and M People with my mum, then as a teenager I listened to a lot of hip-hop, grime and R&B. Now as an adult I listen to all of the above as well as punk, rock. I took my cousin to his first ever gig which was Bullet For My Valentine, I hadn’t listened to them before that & I left that gig a fan.
Do you listen to music while writing, or do you have silence?
I tried it once but ended up listening to the music instead of writing lol I have the radio on in the other room but that’s it.
Do your friends and family read your work?
They do. Hubby hasn’t read anything, but he’s brought a copy of each of my books and has got me to sign them. He has them in pride of place on his Pokémon bookcase *insert heart eyes*. My mother-in-law has read my books… that’s always an awkward conversation lol
Aww I love this! We love a supportive hubby!
What’s something your fans don’t really know about you?
Something from each of my characters is based on my own experiences. Caleb’s swallow tattoo from Never Let Go? I had that tattooed on my wrist after my divorce came through. Raven’s anxieties in Never Gonna Lie and her mantra ‘I’m safe, there’s no threat’? My lived experiences with it and my own everyday mantra.
I love this, and I now know this will hit different when I read the books because I know this.
I know you have some WIP … What’s something you can tell us about them?
Erm… book three in The Forbidden Series follows Theo, who you would have met in Never Let Go and Never Gonna Lie. He’s suffering (I’m not giving too much away *insert maniacal cackle*), so when the woman who destroyed him ten years ago comes back… he starts spiralling out of control. It’s a story about self-worth, self-love, and acceptance.
This sounds amazing. I have put the image below which shows books one and two for those who haven’t seen them.

Favourite holiday? Mine is Halloween. 🎃
Absolutely love Halloween, it’s – in my opinion – the best time of the year. I hate Christmas… It’s the worst holiday for me, but I ended up writing The Bookworm Who Stole Christmas, which is a Grinch retelling. Still hasn’t changed my mind since reading it lol
I also do not like Christmas; everyone always looks at me funny when I say that as well. Good to find someone else who doesn’t like Christmas. Although I am looking forward to reading your Christmas book.

What’s a day in the life look like when you’re writing?
I start anywhere from 8am-9am, spend the next 8 hours with imposter syndrome and either write absolutely nothing or bang out 10k words in one sitting lol I have Borderline Personality Disorder so I’m an all or nothing type of person.
Pahaha. Love this. Imposter Syndrome is so real! I feel you on that.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell younger you?
You are loved. You are good enough. You are believed.
If you were in a fight and you could choose 3 book characters to back you up, who would you choose and why?
Enzo Romano from Run To Me by S Wilson. Johnny from Slay All The Way by Nova Kane and Tony Anderson from A Fine Line by MercyAnn Summers. Three men who wouldn’t think twice before having your back. I’m a little bit obsessed with them.
OMG, yes, Johnny 100% would love to have him back me up in a fight; he is unhinged. I think I would also choose Elijah Sinclair from Kinsley Kincaid’s Haunted by the Devil and Hades from the Hades series by Tate James, I think.
I came across this question on a this or that on Instagram, and it left me sitting there contemplating it for ages … would you rather have an unlimited supply of books to read or live in your favourite book, and why have you chosen whichever option? I went with an unlimited supply of books because what if I can’t read, living in my favourite book 😅
That is a very good point and now I’m slightly scared to answer this question. If I could jump into The Grim and Beast Duet by Bea Paige and live as Grim, I’d be a very happy lady (sorry hubby). Beast is my ultimate book boyfriend. I found him years ago and I’ve never found anyone to match him… he cuts out the hearts of his girl’s enemies just because… I mean, who wouldn’t want that? lol
I mean, I need to read this book now, haha.
What’s a piece of advice you want to give to whoever is reading this? It can be writing-related or life advice.
Our minds are our own worst enemies, I’m a safe space. My DM’s are always open. You are never alone. You are worth more than you realise.
I love this!
