The pace of the book is rather fast, it is only a small novella though. I quite like the pace if I’m honest with you. The book is also in dual POV so you have Elisa’s and then Jacks.
I am Father Winter, ruler of the snow and ice. I am Jack Frost, the harbinger of righteousness at the end of the year.
The book is very character-driven; it focuses on Jack being cursed to spend eternity in the woods, collecting souls of the wicked. Then he meets Elisa and feels a pull towards her. Elisa believes she is on a foreign exchange trip, but she is not. She is drugged on the plane and is taken to a cabin in the middle of the woods, where she wakes up and meets Hans. She knows something isn’t quite right and runs out the door. She has no luggage, no shoes, so she obviously won’t survive. Jack finds her and takes her back to the cabin until he has proof of Hans being evil, so he can then kill him and claim Elisa.
“Creamsicle,” he moans. “My fucking favourite.”
Elisa was a bit stupid in my opinion. First off, she took drugs from a woman she didn’t know, then she left the cabin with no shoes on in below-zero temperatures. She also knows something isn’t quite right with Hans, but still drinks alcohol with him! Alcohol, which he has drugged! Urgh, girl, why?!
“Let me get cleaned up and then we can paint the fucking town red, Daddy.”
I quite liked Jack; he was possessive, obsessive, and rid the forest of evil. He kisses Elisa when he is in his monster form, which had to be grim since he has sharp monster teeth, but you do you boo. Jack also has 2 penises…I think they are one on top of another. He can also make sex toys out of ice…which made me feel very cold reading it. Elisa liked it, though. This book is very spicy!

The book is set in Norway, in the Myrkviðr woods. I liked the setting; it was very idyllic. The writing style was good, easy to follow and flowed well. This book does have the Daddy kink, which does make me cringe, but I was able to look past it.
Overall, the book was fairly enjoyable to read.
Would I read it again? No
Would I recommend it? If you like monster romance and you want the Daddy kink, then yeah.
Personally, I didn’t love this book, but I also didn’t hate it. It was good, which is why I gave it 3.5 stars.
