From Betrayal to Boo: Dirty Little Trick Book Review

Dirty Little Trick by Avery James King

Dirty Little Trick is a Wildwood Halloween Novella. This Novella follows Raven and Griffin. Raven is at home on Halloween night after finding out her boyfriend has been cheating on her. Halloween is Raven’s favourite holiday, and she is upset to be missing the fun. She decides to stay in and watch scary movies with her cat, Coco. However, she finds herself in a similar situation to the lead female of the movie she is watching when someone breaks into her house and chases her.

The sound of a door snicking shut freezes me in place.

Set Sail for Chaos in Lauren Biel’s latest dark rom-com, Ship Happens

Ship Happens by Lauren Biel

Ship Happens is book 3 in the Slaycation series by Lauren Biel and is available to preorder now. The book is set for release on August 1st. Book one is Sinners Retreat, which follows Ezra and Kindra. Book 2 is Slay Ride, which follows Bennett and Cat. Book 3 is Ship Happens, which follows Maverick and Frankie. This serial killer retreat is being held on a cruise ship, the Bruise Cruise. Jim, as we know by now, likes to play games and keep things interesting. What is interesting about this retreat is that it isn’t just killers and cattle. The ship is split into segments, with a section for “normies” and a section for sinners. There is also an extra surprise this trip, as there are 11 Federal agents on the cruise undercover, waiting to bring the killers to their knees. Can they find the agents first? What if you fall in love with one?

From Frostbite To First Kill: Navigating Love And Death In Slay Ride By Lauren Biel

Slay Ride by Lauren Biel

Slay Ride by Lauren Biel is book 2 in the Slaycation series, which is a dark rom-com series. Book 1, Sinners Retreat, focused on Kindra and Ezra, at the tropical retreat for serial killers. You can find my review for that here. Book 2, Slay Ride, focused on Cat and Bennett, and it is at the winter retreat.

Bennett is Ezra’s brother, and Cat is Kindra’s best friend. Cat does not yet have her first kill under her belt, and Bennett and Cat hate each other, so Bennett decides that he wants to kill block Cat at every turn. In doing so, they both end up stranded in the Alaska wilderness, in Winter. They manage to make it to the Cabin before Cat dies of frostbite. Here is where their relationship changes, and they, of course, are stuck together in a cabin. What is going to happen? The horizontal tango!

The First Sin: A Review of E.D. Yates’ Debut Novel

The First Sin by E.D. Yates

The First Sin is the debut book by author E.D. Yates. I found this author through my “Supporting Indie Authors” post, and when I saw the graphics, I knew it would be one I wanted to add to my TBR. Fortunately for me, I won E.D Yates’ giveaway for a paperback copy of her book and a bookmark. I will elaborate on the giveaway further down. So, what is The First Sin?

Britney Spears’ Courageous Journey in ‘The Woman In Me’

The Woman In Me by Britney Spears

I’ve listened to Britney’s music ever since I can remember. I’ve always loved her music and wished I could be as sweet as her. I remember the Free Britney movement, and I thought the conservatorship was so wrong on all levels. When Britney released this book, I knew I wanted to read it; it just took me a little while to get to it.

I found it hard to rate this book, because how do you put a star rating on someone’s trauma?

Sinners Retreat Review: A Hilarious Serial Killer Romance

Sinners Retreat by Lauren Biel

I have read a few of Lauren Biel’s books; the first one I ever read was Captured, which is very dark! I still can’t look at mayo the same. Today, I have finished the first book in Lauren’s Slaycation series, Sinners Retreat.
Is it dark?
Well, they are serial killers; they are at a resort for a serial killer annual event where they get to play bowling using people’s heads, but other than that aspect, no, it’s not dark. It had me laughing out loud many times. It is a dark rom-com, and spoiler alert, I loved it!

Exploring Kinsley Kincaid’s Sweet Sin Slaughterhouse: A Sapphic Erotic Horror Tale

Sweet Sin Slaughterhouse by Kinsley Kincaid

Sweet Sin Slaughterhouse is the newest release by Kinsley Kincaid, and when I say newest, I mean BRAND NEW out today. This is NOT a dark romance; it is an erotic horror and is part of the Devils Society series. It is a standalone in the series, but I recommend you read them in the following order:

Ballet Slippers and Bad Boys: Why Cassidy Can’t Resist Max’s Dangerous Charm

Our Thing by Nicci Harris

I think I mentioned this in a previous blog post, but last year I decided to participate in the ‘12 Months, 12 Friends, 12 Books‘ challenge, where 12 of my friends on BookTok gave me a book recommendation, and I would read one a month until the end of the year. I will link to a post about the challenge here.

Our thing was recommended to me by my friend Jodie, well technically she recommended the Kids of the District series, and I think this is book one, so it counts lol. Previous to Jodie recommending this, I hadn’t heard of the series. I had read 2 novellas by Nicci Harris, but not from this series.
