A Deep Dive into the Dark World of Myers by Zepphora

Myers by Zepphora

Myers is a dark, taboo retelling of Michael Myers from the popular and, in my personal opinion, amazing Halloween films. This book follows Damien King, a 12-year-old boy who lives with his stepsister Samantha after his mother passes away. Samantha babysits Trixie long term, in that she pretty much lives there full time. Trixie is 4 years old and gets ignored by Samantha, so Damien looks after her and protects her. On Halloween night, Damien takes Trixie trick or treating. What starts as a cute night of trick or treating ends with sixteen people dead and a 12 year old boy covered in blood holding a 4 year old child in his arms. Trixie gets taken away from Damien and he spends his time between prison and the psych hospital, until he escapes and makes his way back to Chippewa Falls to reclaim what is his and destroy all those who took her from him.

From Betrayal to Boo: Dirty Little Trick Book Review

Dirty Little Trick by Avery James King

Dirty Little Trick is a Wildwood Halloween Novella. This Novella follows Raven and Griffin. Raven is at home on Halloween night after finding out her boyfriend has been cheating on her. Halloween is Raven’s favourite holiday, and she is upset to be missing the fun. She decides to stay in and watch scary movies with her cat, Coco. However, she finds herself in a similar situation to the lead female of the movie she is watching when someone breaks into her house and chases her.

The sound of a door snicking shut freezes me in place.

From Frostbite To First Kill: Navigating Love And Death In Slay Ride By Lauren Biel

Slay Ride by Lauren Biel

Slay Ride by Lauren Biel is book 2 in the Slaycation series, which is a dark rom-com series. Book 1, Sinners Retreat, focused on Kindra and Ezra, at the tropical retreat for serial killers. You can find my review for that here. Book 2, Slay Ride, focused on Cat and Bennett, and it is at the winter retreat.

Bennett is Ezra’s brother, and Cat is Kindra’s best friend. Cat does not yet have her first kill under her belt, and Bennett and Cat hate each other, so Bennett decides that he wants to kill block Cat at every turn. In doing so, they both end up stranded in the Alaska wilderness, in Winter. They manage to make it to the Cabin before Cat dies of frostbite. Here is where their relationship changes, and they, of course, are stuck together in a cabin. What is going to happen? The horizontal tango!

Exploring the Mind of Harleigh Beck: Horror, Romance, and Inspiration

After my interview with Kinsley Kincaid, which you can read here. I knew I wanted to do more of them, and the first person to come to mind for another interview was Harleigh Beck. I am a huge fan of her work, and she is super sweet. My friends, after reading my interview with Kinsley, also said I should do more, and so I asked who they thought I should ask, and they also said Harleigh, I knew it had to be. I was anxious as hell sliding into Harleigh’s DMs to ask her which is daft because every time we have spoken, she is so kind and sweet, but hey, anxiety isn’t logical!

Interview with Kinsley Kincaid: Insights from the Queen of Taboo Romance

So I recently slid into the DMs of one of my favourite authors asking if we could do a sort of interview, totally casual I would send her the questions and she could respond when she had time and a couple of days later I had her email with her answers and I am smiling like a loon.

So, who is the author? If you follow my social media, you will know my favourite author is Kinsley Kincaid, the Queen of taboo romance!

Let’s jump straight into these questions.
