Goldflame: The Dark Romance Awaited by Fans

Goldflame by Aveline Knight

There are many things I never thought I’d find myself behind; the barrel of a gun is one of them. I feel the tingle, the rush, as it slithers down my skin. I feel the cold. Too many deaths – one of them will be the death of me. Julian is determined to make me pay for someone else’s sins. And I’m struggling not to succumb to his mercy, not to fall to my knees and beg. But as my legs give in, as my muscles strain and my voice weakens, I keep the handle of my knife tight in my grip. My Mother’s suffering collides with mine as I use my last breath to take away the ones who stole hers. I keep fighting. I keep killing. I keep hoping. Even when ghosts are the only company I have left. Even when he’s the last thing I see.

C.J. Riggs’ Shelly: The Ultimate Mix of Horror and Erotica

Shelly by C.J Riggs

Shelly is a short erotic horror story by C.J Riggs. I think this is the 4th book I’ve read by this author, and I have enjoyed every one that I have read.

This book follows Atlas, who is the MMC, and he could never find the perfect girl; he wanted a connection, but couldn’t connect with any of them the way he wanted. So, what does a normal person do? They make it.

The Steamy Dark Conclusion to the Madison Kate Series; Kate

Kate by Tate James

Kate is the fourth and final book in the Madison Kate series, barring the novella Vault, which Tate James recommends reading after the Hades series, see below screen grab.

Kate sees everything from the past 3 books concluded, we find out who ordered the hit on MK which sees MK and the boys injured but alive thank goodness. We also find out who MK’s stalker is that was a twist for the books and most importantly we get the happy ending we all need.

Madison Kate’s journey gets even darker in the third installment; Fake.

Fake by Tate James

Fake is book 3 in the Madison Kate Series. This book finishes off where we ended in Liar. Madison Kate has just found out that her father sold her to Archer, and she is married to him. Madison Kate left with Zane, and the beginning of Fake MK is back in Shadow Grove after being away in Aspen with Bree. MK has her own apartment in a building with some of the Reapers, including Cass, whom MK starts going to the gym and learning how to punch. In Aspen, they met Scott, whom they became friends, and he transferred to SGU to be with MK, even though she had told him she wasn’t interested. They remain friends, but Scott is acting creepy. Archer, Kody & Steele are trying to win her back, and she, of course, crumbles. More attempts are made on MK’s life, and her stalker is still active. She believes the stalker to be Scott when he barges into her home and she shoots him, killing him, only for her stalker to say whoops, wrong person, and her stalker shoots Steele.

Madison Kate’s Dark Journey in Liar: A Five-Star Review

Liar by Tate James

After finishing Hate, which is book one in this series, and you can find my review for it here, I knew I had to jump straight into book 2. If you have not read book one, you may want to skip this review, as there will most likely be book one spoilers.

This book follows directly on from book one, where our FMC, Madison Kate, is in the hospital after being attacked. She believed that Archer was the one who stabbed her, and the boys were banned from the hospital. Madison Kate then decides to discharge herself early and stay at a hotel instead of coming home, but obviously, Archer finds her and drags her home. In this book, we see more of MK’s stalker, and the relationship between MK & the boys is heating up. We also learn more about Zane, who is Archer’s brother, and more attempts are made on MK’s life.

Madison Kate’s Journey: Love, Revenge, and Bad Boys

Hate by Tate James

The first thing that drew me to this book was the cover. That neon green and pink against the black just spoke to me. I had seen that my friends on TikTok had read the series, and I trusted their views. When I saw the set at a good price, I had to pick them up.

Hate is the first book in the four-book Madison Kate series. It is followed by Liar, Fake, and Kate. I believe these are reverse harem.

Exploring Derek’s Dark Story in the Consumed Trilogy

Consumed Triolgy by Brooklyn Cross

At the end of 2024 I asked 12 friends to each recommend me a book, as I wanted to partake in the 12 friends, 12 months, 12 books challenge that I saw on TikTok but I wanted to not just create a post, I wanted to add it to my book journal and read one of the books each month.

My beautiful friend Corina gave me the Consumed Trilogy as her recommendation. Now I technically only needed one book and was just going to read book one, but I ended up reading all three.

That Sik Luv: A Dark Tale of Love and Religion

That Sik Luv by Jescie Hall

This is a Dark Romance book, which follows Briony, who is a catholic (I believe) girl whose life very much revolves around her religion and her church. Briony has been taught that fornication is a sin and that sexual thoughts and actions are immoral. Briony has a stalker who brings out these feelings in her, and she is fighting with herself over what she has been taught and the way her stalker makes her feel. Aero is the demon who has been stalking her and showing her the truth of the church she lives for, along with the truth of the people around her. This book is dark, thrilling and sexy.

This book has many trigger warnings, some of which are stalking, religious trauma, degradation, depictions of violence/murder and many, many more. Make sure you read them unless you’re like me and you don’t really have any triggers.

She broke my fucking finger, and the blood instantly rushed to my groin.

My fiesty little bitch enjoys bringing me pain, and its entirely unfortunate for her that her little outbursts trigger me further.
