From Betrayal to Boo: Dirty Little Trick Book Review

Dirty Little Trick by Avery James King

Dirty Little Trick is a Wildwood Halloween Novella. This Novella follows Raven and Griffin. Raven is at home on Halloween night after finding out her boyfriend has been cheating on her. Halloween is Raven’s favourite holiday, and she is upset to be missing the fun. She decides to stay in and watch scary movies with her cat, Coco. However, she finds herself in a similar situation to the lead female of the movie she is watching when someone breaks into her house and chases her.

The sound of a door snicking shut freezes me in place.

Set Sail for Chaos in Lauren Biel’s latest dark rom-com, Ship Happens

Ship Happens by Lauren Biel

Ship Happens is book 3 in the Slaycation series by Lauren Biel and is available to preorder now. The book is set for release on August 1st. Book one is Sinners Retreat, which follows Ezra and Kindra. Book 2 is Slay Ride, which follows Bennett and Cat. Book 3 is Ship Happens, which follows Maverick and Frankie. This serial killer retreat is being held on a cruise ship, the Bruise Cruise. Jim, as we know by now, likes to play games and keep things interesting. What is interesting about this retreat is that it isn’t just killers and cattle. The ship is split into segments, with a section for “normies” and a section for sinners. There is also an extra surprise this trip, as there are 11 Federal agents on the cruise undercover, waiting to bring the killers to their knees. Can they find the agents first? What if you fall in love with one?

From Frostbite To First Kill: Navigating Love And Death In Slay Ride By Lauren Biel

Slay Ride by Lauren Biel

Slay Ride by Lauren Biel is book 2 in the Slaycation series, which is a dark rom-com series. Book 1, Sinners Retreat, focused on Kindra and Ezra, at the tropical retreat for serial killers. You can find my review for that here. Book 2, Slay Ride, focused on Cat and Bennett, and it is at the winter retreat.

Bennett is Ezra’s brother, and Cat is Kindra’s best friend. Cat does not yet have her first kill under her belt, and Bennett and Cat hate each other, so Bennett decides that he wants to kill block Cat at every turn. In doing so, they both end up stranded in the Alaska wilderness, in Winter. They manage to make it to the Cabin before Cat dies of frostbite. Here is where their relationship changes, and they, of course, are stuck together in a cabin. What is going to happen? The horizontal tango!

Exploring the Mind of Harleigh Beck: Horror, Romance, and Inspiration

After my interview with Kinsley Kincaid, which you can read here. I knew I wanted to do more of them, and the first person to come to mind for another interview was Harleigh Beck. I am a huge fan of her work, and she is super sweet. My friends, after reading my interview with Kinsley, also said I should do more, and so I asked who they thought I should ask, and they also said Harleigh, I knew it had to be. I was anxious as hell sliding into Harleigh’s DMs to ask her which is daft because every time we have spoken, she is so kind and sweet, but hey, anxiety isn’t logical!

Hidden Gems at The Old Pier Bookshop

Once a month, if possible me and my 2 aunties try to go on a little road trip to visit bookshops around the UK. We go off what we see online that looks good, so far we haven’t traveled too far. We’ve been to 66 books, The Old Pier Bookshop and The OakTree Bookshop. This month, we headed off to Morecambe again. We have visited this bookshop before and decided to go back again.
We visited, The Old Pier Bookshop, which is a second hand family run bookshop facing the ocean.

June Book Summary: Health Struggles & Reading Highlights

I can’t believe another month has come to an end. The 6th month too! How has half a year gone by already? Crazy.

This is what I have read in June. I haven’t managed to do individual reviews on here for many of them, but they are all on my TikTok. I have not had the best month health-wise. I have been very drained, dealing with insomnia as well as mini strokes. I will try to get to them, though  ðŸ™ƒ

Must-Read Indie Dark Romance and Horror Titles

I love supporting indie authors, and I also love dark romance and erotic horror. Here is my list of dark romance/erotic horror recommendations. Most, if not all, of these are by indie authors I have read and loved, and I think you should check them out.
You don’t have to, of course. I won’t make you do anything you don’t want, but I think you can be a good girl or boy and check out these authors, right? 😉

Click the author’s name under their picture to see what books they have written, and my thoughts.

Disclaimer: I was not asked to do this, and the authors do not know I am doing this, so I hope they don’t mind 🫠
