My review of Fearless by Lauren Roberts.
I started this book on the 1st May and finished it on the 4th May. I was originally scared to read this book, which I know sounds stupid, it’s just a book, but I fell in love with Kai and Paedyn, and the end of Reckless had me scared for what was to come next for them. I also didn’t want my time in Ilya to end.
I, however, jumped in with both feet, and it felt so good to be back in Ilya, even if I knew it was my last trip. I know many people didn’t love Powerless, but I did, and I love the direction Lauren took the trilogy. I cried at the end of Powerless, and yes, it doesn’t take much to make me cry, but still, I did. I also did the tandem read of Powerless and Powerful, and I would personally say that is the best way to read them. If you want the details of the tandem, read. I have a picture you can download. I used it as a bookmark.
Fearless follows on from Reckless, in which Kitt had declared Paedyn would be his Queen.

!SPOILERS AHEAD!
So when I read Powerless I needed Kai and Pae to be together, but I also loved Kitt he seemed so sweet. This book, though! Kitt was not sweet at all. He was mad with power and his need to keep Kai for himself. Pae may be an Ordinary, but she never stopped fighting and had more resilience than I’ve ever known. It’s for this reason that Pae is one of my favourite FMCs.
I loved the adventures this book took me on. In Powerless, we had the trials, in Reckless, we had Pae’s capture and in Fearless, we had trials once again, but for Pae only, and she did amazing!
I will, without a doubt, re-read this series at some point, and I would love for it to be turned into a film, so long as they keep it as close to the books as possible.
I’m sad that Kitt had to die, but I’m happy that Kai and Pae got their happy ever after. I would love a Novella in the future about their child and the powers she has. I do wish we had a better look at Pae & Kai after they got married, as that part felt rushed to me. I wanted more of their happiness! I gave the book 5 stars, to me the trilogy is a 5 star read all through.
Have you read this trilogy, and if so, what did you think?
