I want her to drag me into her nest. I want her to prefer it when it smells like both of us. I want her to make us a place to just be us. I want to assure my omega she’s built the perfect nest for us, tell her how good and smart and giving she is while she gives me those eyes, while she shows me that softness I’ve only seen when she’s in her nest.
This is the first book I have read by Addison James. I am still in my “reading slump” and knew I had this ARC that I needed to read. I was worried I wouldn’t get into it due to my slump as I have started a couple of books the last week, but nope, I should have picked this up earlier this week!
The way it was written just had me not wanting to put it down. It was easy to read without being simplistic. My cat almost made me fall down the stairs by running under my feet, which is nothing new, but I was reading the book on my Kindle while walking down the stairs, and my reflexes were almost too slow. So, my fault or the cats…it doesn’t matter. The point is, I didn’t even put this down to go to the toilet, it came with me! It also came with me while I was making my cups of tea, and my lunch…Well, I was engrossed in the book and forgot to eat that. All that to say, I couldn’t put this book down.
That’s it, omega. Ride your alpha’s face. Soak me in your scent. Mark me as yours.
I haven’t read many omegaverse stories, and when I say ‘not many,’ I mean I have only read a couple of Harry Potter omegaverse fanfics years ago. The only other time I have read alpha/omega was in another fanfiction years ago, where they also turned into wolves. So, this was new for me, and I found that I actually really enjoyed it! I would definitely read more of them after reading this. Knotting isn’t new to me, due to reading those fanfics, and I found I didn’t dislike it either.
He is mine, my instincts shout at me. I’m sure as hell not giving him up. Mickey is mine, my alpha, here in my nest that I built for the two of us. Mine. All mine.
I related to Paige in lots of ways, and Mickey is the perfect man for her. I loved both of the main characters and can’t fault them in any way. I think the author did a good job of representing chronic illness and autism in this book.
I would definitely read more from this author.
Thank you, Epica Book PR, for sending me the ARC.
