Dirty Little Trick by Avery James King

Dirty Little Trick is a Wildwood Halloween Novella. This Novella follows Raven and Griffin. Raven is at home on Halloween night after finding out her boyfriend has been cheating on her. Halloween is Raven’s favourite holiday, and she is upset to be missing the fun. She decides to stay in and watch scary movies with her cat, Coco. However, she finds herself in a similar situation to the lead female of the movie she is watching when someone breaks into her house and chases her.
The sound of a door snicking shut freezes me in place.

This was a short, easy-to-read novella. I have been in a reading slump, and I needed something to get me back into reading. I had purchased this on Vinted because the cover looked good (I know I am a cover slut). They say never to judge a book by its cover, and they may be right. Still, I never learn 😂 I did think this would be up my street, I love Halloween and I love smut 🤷🏻♀️ I have struggled to focus my brain on well, most things this month to be honest, so I thought a 99 page book would be easy and hopefully give my brain the slap it needs to focus! I mean, technically, it was 82 pages, but I read the 2 chapters at the end of the next novella, so I read all 99 😂
If we do this, you’re fucking mine
It worked. I read this and then I picked up a book that’s been on my TBR for like 6 months, a full 400 page book, and I have read it. So, slump over? 🤞🏼 This book was okay, it wasn’t amazing, but it also wasn’t terrible. It was a short, smutty read; you won’t get much more than that. It is good to be used as a palate cleanser. The writing was okay, again, it wasn’t the best written book I have ever read, but it also wasn’t terrible. I won’t be rushing to read another book by this author, but I also won’t be opposed to reading another of their books. All in all, it was just fine.
