Jack is married to Robyn’s mother, not for much longer, but he is still married to her. Robyn comes to stay with her mother, whom she rarely sees and doesn’t have much of a relationship with, only to find her mother has once again forgotten about her. She ends up staying with Jack since there is a bad storm, which results in them being snowed in. Jack is drawn to Robyn and vice versa, but they are determined not to give in to the pull. Until they do, but only until the snow thaws, then they go their separate ways…right?

Yo, when I heard Riggs was writing a cute romance book, I was pumped!! I read a lot of dark books, dark romance, erotic horror…they are all usually spicy because we all need a bit of spice in our lives 😉 I don’t read cute and fluffy all that often. It is always a nice change of pace when I do, and a good palate cleanser, though. I also couldn’t wait to read Riggs’ spin on a cute romance novella.
So when I write a review, I try to talk about the pace of the book, whether it is character- or plot-driven, the setting and writing style. Obviously, this being a novella, the pace of the book was fast. I love reading novellas, I sometimes (all the time) struggle to focus on things, and I am easily distracted, so a novella scratches that itch, ya know. Like I get to immerse myself in a new world and meet new people (characters) and get all giddy and happy with them, but there is room in my day to get distracted and start 500 other tasks. The note from Riggs at the beginning of the book sums it up quite nicely to be honest.
Again, I write smut for the girls, gays, they’s, and them’s, so let’s not go into this thinking we’re going to get some form of biblical plot line. This isn’t Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat, okay? And if you’re still asking “Why?” then you shouldn’t be here. In all honesty, I just want my characters to fuck.
I also want your characters to fuck, haha. Speaking of characters, this book is like most romance books: character-driven. Jack is ex-military and married to Robyn’s mother, Jennifer, who cheated on him with the chef. Jennifer is a stuck-up cow. She is a shit mother. Robyn grew up with her father in London and didn’t see her mother often. Jack met his stepdaughter for the first time when she was 18 on the day he married Jennifer. Robyn has always been put down by her mother, and this has given her self-confidence issues. I liked Jack; he was dominating, sexy and gruff. Robyn was sassy, funny and building her confidence. I hated Jennifer; she wasn’t in the book much, though, which was good. Even though Jack was rather dominating, Robyn still took control of him in one of the sexiest scenes in the book.

The writing style was obviously amazing. I love Riggs’ writing, so it’s no surprise that I would love the writing style of this book. Riggs has a way of making me laugh so much when reading her books. I love them. The book flows really well and is a quick, easy, cute, spicy read.
Also, Robyn’s friend…Letty is funny. Yes, she is called Letty!!! I put a picture on Instagram, and the caption was: “Anybody else get giddy when they see their name in a book, even though it’s not there because of you. 😂

Overall thoughts:
I loved this book a lot. It was cute, spicy and made me laugh. I loved every minute of reading this and may or may not have had dreams of Jack…I highly recommend this book!
