Sweet Doe by Melissa McSherry and Dana LeeAnn

18+ Contains Adult Content

Sweet Doe is book 4 in the Wrecked series, but you only need to read Slaying for Sloan (book 3) before you read this one. You must read Slaying for Sloan first as Sweet Doe continues where Slaying for Sloan ends.

Sloan is in Holly Grove for the holiday’s meeting her boyfriend’s family. When Alex starts acting differently, he has a darker, more exciting side to him that Sloan loves, only she realises it isn’t Alex. It’s his twin brother Asher. It was a game that started in a lustful haze, that soon turned into fear when Asher takes Sloan deep into the mountains, hiding her away and keeping her for himself. Sloan wants to be angry, wants to be scared, but on one hand, he killed his own twin brother; on the other hand, he treats Sloan well, cares for her, cooks for her, and loves her. She knows she should run, but she finds herself not wanting to. Instead, she runs with Asher, away from the law and their families. Just the two of them against the world.

I know you’re thinking, Jeez, she rates so many of them 5 stars, and what can I say, I know what authors I like and which friends to listen to when they recommend books, lol. I can be quite a generous rater. I think I will do a post at the end of the year/beginning of next year, going over the books I read in 2025 and what I rated them and if I would change that rating or not.

My Experience at Leeds’ Biggest Book Event AATA25

On the 25th of October, I attended Authors At The Armouries in Leeds. This was the biggest book event I have ever been to. To be fair, it was also my second ever one, haha. My first being Authors Behind Bars in Shrewsbury last November. Unless meeting Tulisa at a Waterstones signing counts, if so, it was my third, not second lol.

An Interview with Nikki J Summers: The Author Who Sparked My Love for Dark Romance

Each month, I try and interview a new author. This month, I reached out to Nikki J Summer. Nikki is a lovely person, she is also a dark romance author, and her book, The Taskmaster, is being released this month! I will give you a little bit about The Taskmaster at the end.

Fun fact, Nikki’s book The Psycho was my first ever dark romance book, it was pretty much my first romance book too, I think. Well, I read Twilight in my teens, but other than that and fanfiction, it was my foot in the door of the romance genre, especially dark romance. Now here we are, a few years later, with 3 bookshelves full of romance books and a Kindle with plenty of unhinged spicy books on it. I have zero regrets, but just so you know, Nikki, I blame you for my obsession, since it started with you πŸ˜†

Without further ado, let’s jump into it ☺️

From Influencers to Prey: Exploring the Dark Thrills of Stream and Scream

Stream and Scream by Melissa McSherry and Dana LeeAnn

Stream and Scream is a slasher-like book; it follows Olivia, who is one of 15 influencer contestants. They signed up for a game of survival, and promised followers, fortune and viral glory if they win. They must survive the weekend and reach the safe zone while being hunted. The catch? The show is real, the hunter is real, and the screams they hear are real. Jaxen is the hunter, a military-trained one at that, and he likes hearing the screams. When he sees Liv, he instantly becomes obsessed and possessive; she is his. He will hunt her, and enjoy it, but he won’t kill her. The producers want her dead, but nothing comes between Jaxen and what he has laid claim to.
