I can’t believe another month has come to an end. The 6th month too! How has half a year gone by already? Crazy.
This is what I have read in June. I haven’t managed to do individual reviews on here for many of them, but they are all on my TikTok. I have not had the best month health-wise. I have been very drained, dealing with insomnia as well as mini strokes. I will try to get to them, though 🙃
I started the month with the Hades series by Tate James, and I have done reviews on these. I loved them and don’t ask me which I like best out of this series and the Madison Kate series, because I cannot choose.
I read 7th Circle, which is book one from the 1st to the 2nd, and I rated it 5 stars.

I then read book 2, Anarchy, from the 3rd to the 4th, and I rated that 5 stars also.

Club 22 is book 3, and I read that from the 4th to the 7th and again rated it 5 stars.

Then I read book 4, Timber, from the 7th to the 9th, and of course, I rated it 5 stars.

I then read the Madison Kate novella, Vault, which is set at the same time as Club 22 and Timber. It was so good being back with MK and the boys. I gave this 5 stars, and I read it on the 9th straight after finishing Timber.

Also, on the 9th, I started my ARC of Sweet Sin Slaughterhouse by Kinsley Kincaid. I only read about 2 chapters on the 9th and finished it the day after. This was my first sapphic book, and I enjoyed it. I gave it 4 stars.

On the 10th, after finishing Sweet Sin, I picked up Our Thing by Nicci Harris, which was a book on my 12-book challenge. I read this on the 10th & 11th, and I gave this 4 stars.

On the 12th, I read Amour Fou (don’t ask me to try and say that). This is book 2 in the Dearest Desire series by C.J. Riggs. I enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars.

Then on the 13th, I started The Pucking Wrong Number by C.R. Jane. This book had been on my TBR for a while, I love a hocky romance so reading a darker one, fuck yes! I finished this on the 15th and rated it 4 stars. I read this on my Kindle, and a few days after bought the trophy paperback for my shelf along with book 2.

On the 16th, I read…don’t laugh, Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. I have a few reading challenges on the go, one being the StoryGraph Disney reading challenge, and for that, I needed to read the oldest book on my shelf. I then have my 52 book challenge and a prompt on that was to read a childhood favourite, and Fantastic Mr Fox ticked off both prompts. I gave it 5 stars because I loved this book as a kid, and it was still great reading it as an adult lol.

I then picked up Britney Spears’ book, The Woman In Me, later in the day on the 16th. I finished this on the 17th, and I found it hard to rate because how do you rate someone’s trauma? In the end, I rated it 5 stars because it takes a lot of guts to relive your trauma and share it with the world.

On the 18th, I started Sinners Retreat by Lauren Biel. This book is 100% up there with one of my favourites of the month. It is a dark rom-com, and it had me howling! I enjoyed every minute of this book, will I ever look at a pineapple in the same way again? No, but that’s okay, I don’t eat them anyway lol. I finished this on the 19th, and I gave it 5 stars. Honestly, it is a 10-star read for me!
I then spent the 20th & 21st reading a fantasy ARC, which is written beautifully, the only issue is it is high fantasy, and I struggle with that. I needed something easier to read. This was also around the time I started getting bad headaches and feeling drained, so concentrating on a high fantasy wasn’t happening, so I did DNF the book, which I hate doing. If my health hadn’t taken a nose dive this month, I don’t think I would of DNF’d it, but yeah, I hate DNFing especially ARCS.

On the 22nd, I wanted to keep my reading streak going, and I found an 83-page novella/short story on my Kindle that I had received for being signed up to a newsletter, which I ended up signed up to, because I had joined a giveaway and that left me signed up to a million authors newsletters. Anyway, I thought it was short, so I’ll give it a go. So I read Claiming Ivy by Violet Rae. This book wasn’t for me. I gave it 2 stars; someone else may love this, but it wasn’t for me.

I then picked up Praise by Sara Cate on the 22nd when my insomnia kicked in really badly. I was up all night, so I started it after tea (dinner) and finished it a few hours later. I enjoyed it, it was another that had been on my TBR for a while. I gave it 4 stars.

The following evening when my insomnia once again stopped me from sleeping. I picked up book 2, Eyes On Me, by Sara Cate. I finished it the same night and gave it 4 stars.

Then on the 24th, I started book 3, which is Give Me More, by Sara Cate. This one took me the longest to read, as this is when I started having my mini strokes, and concentrating was a struggle. I finished this on the 28th, and I gave it 4 stars. This was my favourite in the series so far.

Then on the 29th, the insomnia was making me irritable and restless. Instead of lying in bed, jealous of my husband for sleeping (how dare he), I went downstairs and I read Games We Play by Dana Isaly. This was okay, I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. I gave it 3 stars. He called her a dog & made her a dog bed 😳
Anyway, I read every day except for the 30th, but I had made it to a 60-day reading streak, and I thought that was pretty good, but I need to rest and recover, so I let my streak stop and spent yesterday (30th) resting.
I read 11 Kindle books (including my DNF), and 12 Physical books. 2 of them were ARCS, 1 I DNF’d. I read one KU book (I really need to read more on KU and get my money’s worth), and one of the books I read (Praise) was a book fairy (gifted book) from my beautiful friend, Lav. In total, I read 5,100 pages over 17 books (and 1/3 of the book I DNF’d)
